Marcus Peters:

If anyone was going to be needed to make a larger impact vs. the Seattle Seahawks, it needed to be Marcus Peters, who we placed under the spotlight this week. To say he delivered would be a massive understatement.

In his first career game as a Baltimore Raven, Peters intercepted Russell Wilson for the first time in 2019 and took it to the house for a pick-six. There was hope that Marcus Peters would be what would spike the Ravens turnovers and it worked out magnificently. Baltimore’s defense was swarming all day long, but the secondary looked much more confident with Peters involved.

This comes as huge news for the Ravens, as their secondary woes were well-documented heading into this game. The way that Russell Wilson was spinning the ball for the Seahawks had many worried about the damage that he would do against a lowly secondary like Baltimore’s. With one trade, that narrative changed.

Wilson looked mortal in this game, completing just 48.8% of his passes for a mediocre 65.2 passer rating. The interception that he threw to Peters was downright terrible and unusual for Wilson. It was an uncharacteristic pass and Peters made him pay dearly for it. Can’t say that we’re complaining about it.

Peters will have his ups-and-downs for Baltimore this season, there’s no doubt about that. However, his debut for the team was nothing short of promising and has us excited to see what he has in store for the remainder of 2019.
