Trick number 3: Most of the 2017 draft class

Tim Williams has been cut. Jermaine Eluemunor got traded to the New England Patriots. Tyus Bowser has 10 tackles and two sacks. Chris Wormley has six tackles. The 2017 NFL Draft gave the Ravens Marlon Humphrey and Chuck Clark yet the rest of this draft class looks bleak now.

Going into the season this group of players was very important to the Ravens. Eluemunor was competing for the starting left guard spot before he was traded. The Ravens lost Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith so they needed Bowser and Williams to take the next step. The Ravens gave up on Williams after the 40-25 loss to the Browns. Somebody had to get cut after a game that bad and Williams was an easy choice. Bowser offers the Ravens about as much as Jaylon Ferguson does and Ferguson is a rookie. Wormley isn’t a bad player yet he’s just a guy for the defensive line. The Ravens were banking on the 2017 draft class to finally come through for the front seven. It’s not happening.

Marlon Humphrey should be going to the Pro Bowl this season. Chuck Clark is now a starter. You can’t lump the entirety of the draft class. Keeping with the Halloween theme of this post, Humphrey is a fun size bag of Peanut M&M’s. Clark is a Nestle Crunch bar which is always a surprisingly good option. The rest are flat out tricks.
