Baltimore Ravens are the best team in the NFL
It would not be hyperbole to call the Baltimore Ravens the best team in the NFL. That’s exactly what the Baltimore Ravens are:
There is a lot of football to be played yet the Baltimore Ravens are the most impressive team in the league. They just beat the AFC South leading, Houston Texans convincingly. The Ravens won the game 41-7 and beat the Texans in a way that nobody could have predicted. The Ravens have the top offense in the NFL, with a defense that has found it’s confidence. The Ravens are the most balanced team in the NFL, and their resume is not in question.
In College Football the four playoff teams are selected by a committee based off each team’s resume. If there was a similar committee for the NFL, the Ravens would be ranked the number one team.
They beat the defending champion New England Patriots. It was the Patriots first loss and it wasn’t close. The Ravens beat the Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Texans convincingly. The Ravens have steamrolled most of their competition in their six game winning streak. If there was a four pronged playoff system in the NFL, the Ravens have beaten three of the teams that would be in the conversation for it.
The Ravens are going to win the AFC North. That is all but official at this point. The Ravens are 8-2 and they are showing no signs of slowing down. John Harbaugh’s team is not unbeatable yet how many losses can the Ravens really be expected to have? If they stay healthy, the Ravens are just going to keep playing their game. It’s a style of play that no team can really stop. The Ravens may run the table and if they don’t we’re only looking at a loss or two more in the regular season.
The Ravens have the most valuable player in Lamar Jackson. Jackson has played Russell Wilson‘s Seahawks and Deshaun Watson‘s Texans and Jackson has been the main reason his team won. The Texans defended the Ravens about as well as they could have hoped for. The Ravens were bottled up the entire first quarter. Jackson broke the Texans’ defense and there was no putting it back together again in that game.

The Ravens average 34.1 points per game. They can go toe to toe with anybody in the NFL because nobody can stop them from running the football. The Ravens have 2,038 rushing yards. If the Ravens had two bye weeks in a row nobody in the NFL could probably even catch up to that total. The Ravens have 471 more rushing yards than the next closest team, the Minnesota Vikings.
Lamar Jackson has made history by being the only quarterback to have seven consecutive games with at least 60 rushing yards. He’s had two games with perfect passer ratings of 158.3. He just threw for four touchdowns against the Texans.
He has 19 touchdown passes and five interceptions on the season and he’s eliminated the fumbling problems from last season. There isn’t a more equipped offense in the NFL. The Ravens can beat you on the ground and through the air. The Ravens make defenses choose how they get beaten and they respect their wishes.

The Ravens just had seven sacks against the Texans. The one knock on the purple and black was that they didn’t have enough of a pass rush. If the Ravens defense plays like they did against Houston, they almost cannot lose. If Jackson plays the way he played against the Texans, the Ravens almost cannot lose. This is a team that has a chance to win a Super Bowl. They have to do it, but we know that they can win it all.
