2. The Lamar Jackson effect:
Going into the Texans game, I warned you not to put too much weight into the fact that the Texans had the third best rushing defense. They are now the 13th best run defense in football. What the Ravens are doing is working. In week 11 the Ravens played a top five run defense and put up 264 yards on the ground. In week 12 they’ll have another 200 yards. Until somebody proves that this run game can be stopped, betting against it is ignoring the information in front of you.
Against the Texans, the Ravens stuck to the run game with Mark Ingram. They got churned out some tough yards. Lamar Jackson added 86 on the ground and the Texans run defense was all the sudden discombobulated.

Jackson is the MVP of the league because he makes the ultimate impact on every single game. His worst game of the season still had moments where he was amazing. The Rams defense isn’t bad. Aaron Donald is a superstar defensive tackle. I am giving all due respect to the Rams when I tell you that the Rams aren’t going to be able to stop Jackson. Jackson can do it through the air or on the ground, but he’s going to do it.
The more success Jackson has the more success Mark Ingram II and Gus Edwards have on the ground. It’s the same story every week. Team X will figure out Y and the Ravens will be stopped. People keep trying to figure out the equation and insisting that there is a formula for stopping the Ravens. The Ravens keep adding wins to their record.
