The Baltimore Ravens have faced plenty of good defenses in 2019, however they’ve yet to face as many stars on one unit as the Los Angeles Rams possess.

When you look at a defense featuring players like Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Dante Fowler, and Eric Weddle together you’d be under the assumption that you were looking at a Pro Bowl roster. Alas, that’s not the case, as the Los Angeles Rams have all of these guys, and others, on their 2019 defensive unit. This will give the Baltimore Ravens some headaches come game time Monday night.

The Rams defense starts and ends with Donald, the reigning (and two-time winning) Defensive Player of the Year. Donald has eight sacks on the season and will take on an average Ravens interior offensive line to pressure Lamar Jackson. There will be a huge amount of pressure on left guard Bradley Bozeman’s shoulders to play his best football against the league’s best defensive player.

On the edge, Dante Fowler is damn near elite and will give both of Baltimore’s tackles trouble. Ronnie Stanley and Orlando Brown Jr. have been playing at a Pro Bowl level, but they’ll need their A-game to shut-down Fowler for 60-minutes.

In the LA secondary lies cornerback Jalen Ramsey and safety Eric Weddle. Ravens Flock is familiar with Weddle, who spent the 2016-2018 seasons with Baltimore. Weddle is a strong leader and tackler who knows the intricacies of the Ravens offense. He himself will help this Rams defense step up against even the Baltimore Ravens high-powered offense.

Then there’s Ramsey, perhaps the NFL’s best corner. Ramsey will be tasked with slowing down Baltimore’s passing attack, even though it is far from elite. Where Ramsey will really need to shine is in keeping Lamar Jackson honest. Ramsey will need to keep receivers like Marquise Brown in front of him while also not allowing Jackson to break the pocket and subsequently the defense’s coverage with his legs; if that happens, it’s game over for any NFL defense. Still, if there’s a cornerback who can accomplish this, it’s Jalen Ramsey.
