3. Their wake up call came early:

One thing the Ravens have to be really appreciative is timing. When the Ravens got rocked by the Cleveland Browns to the score of 40-25, it woke them up. The Ravens cut Tim Williams which gave the right players more snaps on the edge and served as a dose of accountability. The Ravens signed key free agents like L.J. Fort and Josh Bynes. They figured out what they should and shouldn’t be doing on both sides of the ball. It’s not a fluke that the Ravens haven’t lost since that horrible September day. The Ravens got a wake up call and they got it in week 4.

Wins make you content, losses force change. The Ravens had lost two straight games and lucked their way into a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was when the Ravens beat the Seattle Seahawks that you knew they had really found their groove. What would have happened if that wake up call wasn’t given to them before October rolled along? The loss to the Browns may have been the best thing that could have happened to them. The Ravens learned some hard truths and made the requisite changes to their roster. Cleveland, you did Baltimore a favor. No loss has ever seen more good come out of it.

When you’re 9-2 and you look destined for a top two seed, there is a lot to be thankful for. I hope everybody in the Ravens Flock has a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. This might just be the best day on the entire calendar. Enjoy some Thanksgiving football (The Buffalo Bills are the Ravens opponent following the 49ers). Indulge in all the Turkey Day fixings. Make sure you tell the ones you love, that you appreciate them. There certainly is a lot to be thankful for when it comes to the Ravens.
