The Ugly:

The ugliest parts of this game were the things neither team could control. The weather was downright ugly. The weather wasn’t in either teams control and you have to wonder how different this game could have been on a dry day. The rain was an all day thing and it was heaviest during the game. The fans who went to this one deserve a ton of the credit, the conditions weren’t good.

The other variable that neither team could do anything about was the officiating. Pass interference has become the most confusing aspect of the game. Marlon Humphrey‘s pass interference came on a play where there was almost no contact. It wasn’t a phantom call, yet it should have been a no call. Then Mark Andrews gets clobbered over the middle of the field and there was no call. John Harbaugh challenged it and they still didn’t give the Ravens the call. The defense has the right to the football, they don’t have the right to shove Andrews in the back to get to that ball. That was pass interference and the fact that a review didn’t change the call is frustrating.

Next. Ravens beat 49ers in dramatic fashion. dark

The Ravens played a somewhat sloppy game. There were some plays they will want back on both sides of the football. The fact that the Raheem Mostert had 7.7 yards per carry is bad. His 40 yard touchdown was the biggest example of a big defensive problem  The run defense had been a strength of the Ravens so this was one thing that should give the Ravens Flock pause. In the end this was a phenomenal victory against a Super Bowl worthy opponent.
