The 2019 Baltimore Ravens have scored over 40 points five times this season. They have won 10 straight games in a row and have a 12-2 record going into the final two weeks of the regular season. They have a true NFL superstar in Lamar Jackson. They have a top 10 offense and a top 10 defense.

This is the first time the Ravens have had a true NFL superstar on offense. The closest thing the Ravens have had to a superstar level talent is Ray Rice. Rice was a Pro Bowl caliber player, he wasn’t one of the five most electric players in the entire league. Jackson should be the NFL’s MVP. He’s the most important player to his team and he may be the most enjoyable athlete to watch in the NFL.

The Ravens have never had 10 straight wins before. The Ravens have never had less close games in a season. The Ravens have always been a team that had to win tight games. Sure, the Ravens would have blowouts in the past, but they wouldn’t become an almost weekly occurrence.

The 2012 Ravens won the Super Bowl. They went 10-6. After getting off to a 9-2 start they lost four out of the last five games. The Ravens scored 44 touchdowns that season which is 14 fewer than the 2019 Ravens have through 14 games.

The 2012 Ravens gained 5,640 yards which was just 25 yards more than their opponents. The 2012 Ravens were huge underdogs in the divisional round of the playoffs against the Broncos. They weren’t supposed to win the Super Bowl, things just came together at the right time.

The 2000 Baltimore Ravens had one of the best defenses of all-time. The 2019 defense doesn’t hold a candle to the Super Bowl XXXV defense. That being said the 2000 offense wasn’t good and the defense had to do all the heavy lifting. The 2000 Ravens scored 32 touchdowns and it’s important to remember that a chunk of those came from the defense and from kick returner, Jermaine Lewis. The 2000 offense put up 5014 yards and had 288 first downs. It took a historic defense to make Baltimore a winner.

The 2019 Ravens have picked up 336 first downs and 5,736 yards and they have two games left in the season. The defense has a habit of creating turnovers. Baltimore has not only the most balanced team in franchise history, but also one of the most balanced teams in NFL history. The Ravens have had some incredible seasons but they have never been the favorites to win the Super Bowl. They just went on magical runs in the postseason.

We don’t have to wait to call this the best team in franchise history. Franchise records are being broken at a crazy rate and this team has never had a more balanced group of talent. The 2019 Ravens are special.
