3. Marcus Peters
Can you even imagine what the season would have been like if the Ravens didn’t trade for Peters? Would the Ravens have beaten the Seahawks without his momentum swinging pick-six? Would the Ravens defense have been able to keep a 12 game winning streak alive going into the playoffs? Peters is an All-Pro player because he changed the trajectory of things for the Ravens. Peters has five interceptions and three touchdowns this season (two of those interceptions and one of those scores was for the Los Angeles Rams).
Peters has re-established himself as one of the most dangerous cornerbacks to attack in the passing game. He’s an elite cornerback who just signed a contract extension with Baltimore. Every time a quarterback throws the ball in his direction, they have to hope that Peters doesn’t make them pay. The thing Peters is the master at is trapping quarterbacks into bad decisions. His pick six against the Seahawks came on a play where he tricked Wilson. His interception against the Rams was an example of how he can toy with quarterbacks. No cornerback looks for the big play more than Peters.
Normally, players who get traded for next to nothing don’t become first team All Pros with a Pro Bowl selection for good measure. The Ravens gave Peters the perfect chance to show that the Rams made a mistake. Peters stock has never been higher and he’s now one of the most important players on the Ravens’ defense.
