There’s a lot of moving parts in the Baltimore Ravens offense, but against the Tennessee Titans, the Ravens must prioritize getting Marquise Brown the ball.

Good things happen when Marquise Brown touches the football. The former 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft tied a Baltimore Ravens franchise-record seven receiving touchdowns as a rookie. Brown accomplished this feat in just 14 games (11 starts). Brown put on a show worthy of his nickname, “Hollywood,” and his chemistry with Lamar Jackson was evident from day one.

With the Ravens offense being so run-heavy, Marquise Brown gave the unit a much-needed boost out wide. The run game ate up defenses, while the tight ends were allowed to work the middle of the field for chunk yards and touchdowns. To a certain extent, Brown completed the offense with his outside speed and ability to take defenses deep.

There’s little doubt that Marquise Brown can be the team’s verticle threat, but the Ravens are only just beginning to tap into his potential. The playoffs appear to be the best chance for Baltimore to begin using Brown to his maximum capabilities.

Throughout most of 2019, Brown hasn’t even been at 100% due to a foot injury that required surgery in the offseason. With so much time off to get back to full health thanks to the team’s bye-week, we can expect him to perhaps finally be good to go.

We’ve seen plenty of ability from Marquise Brown to use his speed underneath and then create yards after the catch. Honestly, there aren’t many receivers better at slants than him. Using his ability to make big plays both underneath and deep will be what makes this Baltimore Ravens offense operate at its best. Scheming touches for Brown may sound gimmicky, but it’s the best way for the Ravens to remain balanced and explosive offensively.

The team has playmakers in the passing game, particularly in tight end Mark Andrews, but no one can give the offense the firepower that Marquise Brown gives them. It’s of utter importance that he sees the ball early and often.

Marquise Brown will be a major factor in the Baltimore Ravens offense not just against the Tennessee Titans, but throughout the playoffs as a whole. Baltimore can run the ball, but can they throw it when they need to? They absolutely can if they get the ball in “Hollywood” Brown’s hands.
