Many at fault for Baltimore Ravens disappointing season-ending loss
By Ian Schultz
Too little, too late:
The Baltimore Ravens accumulated yards in garbage time on Dean “Swiss” Pees’ defense to make it look like they dominated the game. Jackson added a dreadful pick as well, his third turnover of the game. It all added up to a 28-12 embarrassment for the Ravens.
John Harbaugh coached his worst game of the year Saturday night. I don’t care about the 4th down regular-season success rate. If you miss in Week eight in the second quarter of a regular-season game, it impacts nothing long term. These are do or die football games where momentum and game feel should dictate decision making. Going for it on your own end early was dumb. The decision out of halftime, still dumber. He’s top of my blame list.
Greg Roman looked shell shocked that his offense had been stopped in its tracks. Almost like there was no way that could happen. Save the “he was distracted from interviewing excuse”. There still should have been more of an emphasis on the power running game early even though the Titans did well shutting it down. From there he was in pass mode trying to claw the Ravens back. Despite the game plan, the Ravens had drives reach the 36, 31, 4,18, 31, 16, and 21 in addition to the touchdown drive but finished with just 12 points.
Wink Martindale’s defense couldn’t stop the one-man show Saturday night. Henry finished with 208 total yards and a touchdown pass. The Ravens despite Earl Thomas‘ trash-talking per usual didn’t look interested in tackling the big rig on Saturday night. They got beat in coverage several times as well and gave up their most points since week four.
