3. Justin Ellis:

Apparently we don’t have a picture of Justin Ellis with the Ravens; I guess this is an under the radar member of the Ravens’ defensive line. Of the soon to be free agent defensive linemen, Ellis is the one I would most like to bring back to Baltimore. He has a huge build, is a serviceable part of the defensive line rotation and he has some good experience in the league. The 29 year old defensive tackle is not a big stat producer. The Ravens aren’t getting a pass rusher out of Ellis. While they shouldn’t spend more big money on space eaters, they do need to keep some of them.

Ellis wouldn’t require big money. If you’re on this list, the Ravens have the ability to bring you back but there’s not desperation to do it. It’s the middle ground of free agency, not the headline producing flashy work of the offseason. Ellis is a player who may linger on the free agency market for a while. The Ravens picked him up in the middle of the 2019 season and he was available for a reason.

In 2017, Ellis had a decent number of tackles and a half sack. If the Ravens can get 40-50 tackles out of the guy, with a hint of pass rush, it may be worth bringing him back. Ellis isn’t a flashy player yet he could be one that matters up front for the Ravens. The Ravens brass at least has to have a conversation about bringing back Ellis. He could be a low key boost as a rotational player for the defensive line.
