Brandon Scherff:

The interior of the Baltimore Ravens offensive line is slightly above average, but the future is cloudy right now. Bradley Bozeman, Matt Skura, and Patrick Mekhari were all solid in 2019, but the play was elevated thanks to Marshal Yanda. Yanda could be retiring this offseason, however, putting the interior of the offensive line near the top of Baltimore’s offseason to-do list.

Thankfully, it just so happens that a top-tier offensive guard could be hitting the open market in Brandon Scherff.

Scherff, the former fifth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft has made the Pro Bowl three times in his first five years in the NFL and plays at a very high level when he’s 100%. Unfortunately, Scherff has missed 15 games in that stretch of time, including hitting injured reserve in 2018 with a torn pectoral muscle.

While Scherff returned to his usual self in 2019, there are some concerns about his ability to be a consistently relied upon player at an important position for the Baltimore Ravens. But when he’s healthy, he’s dominant and worth every penny.

Scherff will require the Ravens to spend some extra dough to bring him in, but he’s a valuable piece for a run-heavy offense. Scherff is a luxury with Yanda, but if Yanda does retire he becomes a priority signing for Baltimore.
