Jadeveon Clowney:

Perhaps the biggest name to hit the Free Agency market this offseason will be former number one overall pick, Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney’s market will be through the roof and teams will have to spend a fortune to acquire his services. Many will be clamoring for Clowney, and the Baltimore Ravens should be bidding for him as well.

In Clowney, you get yourself a young, blossoming star who only gets better every year. There are few who set the edge as brilliantly as Clowney does and his relentless pass-rushing leads to plenty of pressures and hits. Clowney doesn’t fill the stat sheet (32.0 sacks in six seasons), but his play is beyond measuring in pure numbers.

The Ravens need any help they can get when it comes to rushing the quarterback and Clowney not only provides that help, but his versatility in the Ravens odd defensive fronts provides huge value to them. At 6’5″ 255-lbs., Clowney is able to stand up or put his hand in the dirt. Clowney now has experience in both a 3-4 defense and a 4-3 front, giving him the tools to work no matter where he may line up.

You can’t teach effort, either, and no one brings it on every play the way Clowney does. This is a player who embraces the “Play like a Raven” mentality unlike anyone else on the Free Agency market. If Baltimore were to go-big or go-home, it would be for Jadeveon Clowney.
