The Baltimore Ravens glided to a 14-2 record under John Harbaugh in 2019, so it’s not surprising to see him named the 2019 NFL Coach of the Year.

John Harbaugh has been the Baltimore Ravens head coach since 2008. Under Harbaugh’s watch, the Ravens have a total record of 128-81, including a 10-7 post-season record and a Super Bowl XLVII title.

Harbaugh’s best regular-season came this past season, as Baltimore coasted to a 14-2 record with the best offense in the NFL and a stud defense to match. The team won 12-straight games after starting the year off 2-2 and absolutely dominated some of the best teams the NFL had to offer. It didn’t matter where they played, as the Ravens were 7-1 both on the road and at home.

The ending to the 2019 season wasn’t ideal, but the 2019 edition of the Baltimore Ravens was perhaps the most dominant the franchise has ever seen in their history, let alone under John Harbaugh’s watch.

The staff operated excellently under Harbaugh’s watch, as offensive coordinator Greg Roman won the Assistant Coach of the Year award and defensive coordinator Don Martindale provided the defensive side of the ball with a swagger not seen in quite some time. The three coaches worked in perfect unison with one another and the Baltimore Ravens flourished because of it.

John Harbaugh did a wonderful job developing his players this past season as well. This is especially evident in Lamar Jackson‘s growth from year-one to year-two. Harbaugh did a wonderful job assessing the team’s weaknesses from 2018 and turning them into strengths in 2019. It didn’t result in a Super Bowl title the way that we hoped, but the Baltimore Ravens look like title contenders for a fairly large window moving forward.

Under John Harbaugh’s reign, the Baltimore Ravens have seen nothing but sustained success and have spoiled Ravens Flock beyond measure. It’s nice to see Harbaugh finally recognized for his greatness, as he gets to add the NFL’s Coach of the Year honors to his mantle that is building up a Hall of Fame resume.
