1. Matt Judon:

To the surprise of no one, Matt Judon is the top priority free agent for the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

Judon recorded a career-high 9.5 sacks in 2019 on his way to his first career Pro Bowl nod. The future is bright for the 27-year old edge rusher. Whether or not that future remains in Charm City is currently up in the air to the point where there’s speculation as to whether or not the Ravens will franchise tag Judon and trade him. Debating that is a conversation for another time. Right now, we need to figure out if Judon should be signed long-term or not.

It makes no sense to simply let him walk, as Baltimore learned that lesson the hard way when they let Za’Darius Smith and Terrell Suggs both leave last offseason. Judon’s 9.5 sacks led the team in 2019, with the next closest being Tyus Bowser (5.0 sacks). Considering the Ravens recorded just 37 team sacks this year, the team almost can’t afford to lose Judon.

There’s a lot of moving parts here, however, as Judon will turn 28-years old at the start of the season. His market value becomes tough because he’ll be a somewhat older player. Baltimore is also strapped on cash and has a lot of other players to bring back. Judon could be a luxury they can’t afford.
