Lavonte David:

Name a more productive linebacker who is overlooked by everyone than Lavonte David. You can’t.

David has produced Hall of Fame numbers throughout his stint in the NFL but has just one Pro Bowl to show for it. David has over 1,000 tackles in eight seasons to go along with 22.5 sacks and 11 interceptions. It’s absolutely criminal how underrated this guy is, but here we are. Luckily for him, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are fully aware of how good he is.

In 2019, the Buccaneers had the league’s top-ranked rushing defense in terms of YPG and it wasn’t even close. Tampa Bay surrendered just 73.8 rushing YPG. The next closest was the New York Jets at 86.9 rushing YPG. While the team had some terrific run stuffers throughout its defense, David was the biggest reason for their success behind his 123 tackles (82 solos).

The Baltimore Ravens would be thrilled to land a guy like David on their defense. David would be right at home, too, as he’d still have big bodies up front to leave lanes open for him to glide to. David could lead the entire league in tackles behind the Ravens defensive line.

It would take quite a bit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to give up their prized defender, but it could very well be worth the cost. Lavonte David is just 30-years old and has plenty left in the gas to give a team like the Baltimore Ravens the extra juice they need on defense.
