2. Emmanuel Ogbah

An edge rusher has largely been identified as the Ravens top need entering the 2020 season. As top targets like Jadeveon Clowney, Yannick Ngakoue and Shaquil Barrett seem unlikely,  Emmanuel Ogbah makes sense. Should the Ravens lock up Matt Judon long-term, Ogbah—who’s set to become an unrestricted free agent—would be the perfect sidekick. Should Judon slip away, Ogbah would be a good piece for establishing Baltimore’s edge defense moving forward.

Ogbah has struggled with injuries which is a problem all too familiar for Ravens fans with exception to the 2019 season. Despite suffering a season-ending pectoral tear in November, Ogbah still had 5.5 sacks in 10 games (four starts). Ogbah can get after the Quarterback with a quick first step and has been solid against the run, which proved to be desperately needed by Wink Martindale’s defense down the stretch. Similar to Judon, Ogbah could thrive rushing the passer with a talented secondary playing behind him.

To put his play into perspective, Ogbah had 1.5 sacks, 1 tackle for loss and a season-high four QB hits on the MVP Lamar Jackson when the Chiefs and Ravens squared off in late September. The Chiefs seemingly have bigger fish to fry in free agency, namely star edge rusher Chris Jones, which makes the signing all the more possible. Being dubbed as The Nigerian Nightmare, Ogbah seems to fit right into the personality of this team. Whether it be through Free Agency, the draft or both, ideally, snagging an edge rusher is a must for Baltimore.
