3. Cory Littleton

This is more than likely the most pricey of the three options—especially when popular opinion has allocated the Ravens cash to an edge rusher—but Cory Littleton would still be hard to pass up on if given the opportunity. The Ravens’ two clear-cut best Inside Linebackers, Josh Bynes and LJ Fort, were previously cut by their teams, and only Fort is under contract for 2020. Patrick Onwuasor‘s status remains largely up for discussion based on his general performance and his recent altercation with John Harbaugh.

According to Pro Football Focus, Littleton was the first ranked tackler among all defenders in 2019. For a Ravens defense that seemed to miss more opportunities in the backfield than any other team in NFL history, having a player like Littleton would provide, at the very least, assurance when it comes to wrapping up the ball carrier.

Additionally, PFF ranked Littleton sixth in overall defense, eighth in pass coverage and 9th in pass-rushing among all linebackers in 2019. We’ve seen the linebackers inability in the losses against the Chiefs and the Browns and the patches that filled those gaps for the 12 game win streak are temporary or un-established.

Littleton checks all the boxes in terms of what the Ravens should be looking for at inside linebacker. At 26-years-old he could be the answer long term. The Ravens have never been the ones to overpay for any player but, assuming DeCosta is willing to open up the checkbook, Littleton would be worth the price.
