Marquise Goodwin:

It wasn’t all that long ago that Marquise Goodwin recorded nearly 1,000-yards receiving with the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for him, the injury bug has plagued him quite a bit and now he finds himself likely to be cut by the NFC champions.

Goodwin is far from a complete receiver, but he brings olympic-level speed to the position. Goodwin is averaging 16.6 YPR for his career and had 17.2 YPR back in 2017 when he broke out for 962-yards.

If not for the 49ers consistently retooling their wide receiver corps it’s safe to assume that Goodwin would be their deep threat. But the NFL is a business, and San Francisco would recoup ~$6 million in cap space if they decided to move on from the 29-year old receiver.

Goodwin’s speed should attract an already lethal Baltimore Ravens offense. His ability to play in the slot or split out wide would make him a deadly asset to match with Marquise Brown. Lamar Jackson has a lively arm and having two guys to stretch the field deep would be unfair to opposing defenses.

The nice thing about signing Marquise Goodwin is that Baltimore could get him on a very cheap deal. Goodwin won’t turn 30-years old until December but he’s still one of the fastest players in the league. The Ravens should absolutely kick the tires on Goodwin and see what he’s got left in the tank.
