With the 2020 NFL Combine coming up the Ebony Bird crew has come together to give you one player to keep a close eye on for the Baltimore Ravens.

Chris Schisler: Curtis Weaver Outside linebacker (Boise State)

It’s not exactly a secret who my draft crush is for the Baltimore Ravens. I have already written about why Curtis Weaver is the perfect target for the purple and black, so I’ll try to not sound repetitive. In three years, Weaver has had seven games with more than one sack. When he has a favorable match-up he takes over a game.

He had three sacks against UNLV and four sacks against Portland State. Against stronger competition, he still gets constant pressure on the quarterback and is more than likely to get a sack or two. Weaver had 13.5 sacks this past season. He had 9.5 sacks in 2018 and 11 sacks in his freshman season.

Weaver is a player who was consistently good on the edge, who had a breakout 2019 season. He crossed over into the great edge rusher category with his performance this year. Weaver has a total of 34 sacks in three years, he certainly looks the part. The Ravens have to be interested in Weaver, who has a lot to gain from this NFL combine. The Ravens have the 28th overall pick. This means the Ravens may miss out on the first wave of pass rushers taken in the draft. The combine is Weaver’s opportunity to climb into the first-round conversation.

Weaver is one of the most underrated prospects in this draft class. He’s an impressive player who can win one on one matchups in the trenches. He plays with a toughness that has me thinking that he plays like a Raven. He’s a player that passes the eye test and has more than solid production. The combine is a chance for him to show you why he should be a first-round pick. It’s a chance for him to put himself on the conversation for the 28th overall pick.
