3. A good start to the offseason:
The Baltimore Ravens have franchise tagged Matt Judon and have acquired Campbell. The Ravens may not have a ton of moves that they are able to make in free agency, yet they have given themselves a good start. This will help ease the annual panic of the Ravens Flock when free agency begins and the Ravens aren’t in the headlines the way fans want to see. The good thing about this trade is that it shows you the beginning of DeCosta’s plan. If the Ravens keep Judon on the tag they are not done, yet they may be done with their biggest moves. This puts the Ravens in a good position. If they fix one more problem in free agency and continue to draft well, the Ravens will be walking into the season as the biggest threat to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC. They may already be the biggest threat to the Chiefs, actually.
The Ravens need to find a better answer at inside linebacker, get one more edge rusher and improve the wide receiver position. Ben Powers should be the starting right guard yet the Ravens should invest a draft pick on the offensive line because of the retirement of Marshal Yanda. The Ravens should try to sign one more edge rusher or a wide receiver and take care of the rest with their draft picks. This trade provided a much clearer path to a successful offseason for DeCosta.
This is a great day for the Baltimore Ravens. Campbell is a major addition. The Ravens took care of their biggest area of need and they did it in the most logical way imaginable. There is not one bad thing to say about this trade. The Ravens are now closer to a Super Bowl run. They have the ability to make this roster ready for a championship.
