How much better will the Baltimore Ravens be in 2020?

More moves to come:

With all of the great moves that the Baltimore Ravens have made, they probably still aren’t done. Not too long ago there was a rumor that trading Robert Griffin III was on the table. Though the Ravens would probably only get a sixth or seventh-round pick for him, it might make some sense to trade him.

Griffin has stated in the past that he wants the opportunity to be a starter again, he most certainly won’t get that opportunity playing behind the 2019 MVP. Also, Trace Mcsorley played fairly well in the preseason and should only get better. Though moving on from Griffin would mean putting faith into a very young, inexperienced backup, the Ravens have always shown a love for draft picks and it might be in the best interest of Griffin to go and compete for a starting job before his age is too much to overcome.

Another decision that needs to be made is what to do with Matthew Judon. Judon, who was franchise tagged, has been one of the more consistent players on the Ravens. He has had at least 7 sacks and 19 QB hits in the past three years, though some may knock him for not being a dominant pass rusher, he is a fine player that I am sure the Ravens would like to sign to a long-term deal. However, he has drawn some interest from teams, including the Seattle Seahawks who might be looking to move on from Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney has been a solid player, but he never lived up to his number one draft pick status and has missed games in nearly every year of his career.

Trading Judon to the Seahawks is probably one of the more difficult choices that the Ravens would make this offseason. However, with all of the initial moves the Ravens have made, the cap situation looks pretty bleak. Trading Judon would provide immediate relief and Judon would more than likely get the pay-day that he has been looking for. At the same time, a trade like that would make pass rusher a big need again. The Ravens would probably need at least a 2nd round pick to move on from Judon.
