A secondary rivaled by none:

This Baltimore Ravens secondary needs no help to remain one of, if not the, best units in the game. Not much has changed, but not much needed to change, either.

The strength of the unit lies in its top two cornerbacks, Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters. Both were Pro Bowl and First-Team All-Pro selections in 2019 and combined for six interceptions and four touchdowns as the NFL’s best cornerback tandem. They both return for 2020 and will be unmatched by whoever dares lineup across from them.

Jimmy Smith also returns to the team after signing a one-year deal. Smith is the team’s third cornerback and even at 32-years old will be a savvy veteran who will give quarterbacks fits. We also can’t forget about arguably the league’s best slot cornerback, Tavon Young, returning for 2020 after missing all of 2019 with a neck injury. His return makes the Ravens four deep at the cornerback position.

The safety spot is also a strength for Baltimore with Pro Bowler Earl Thomas and stud Chuck Clark slated to start at both spots. Thomas was as good as advertised in 2019, while Clark stepped in for an injured Tony Jefferson and was perhaps an upgrade over the former Raven. Clark signed an extension in good faith from the team and he’ll look to have his best year yet after leading the Ravens in tackles a year ago.

Add in some solid depth guys like Anthony Levine, Anthony Averett, DeShon Elliott, and Iman Marshall and you’ve got a secondary that could be historically good in 2020.
