There’s still time to improve:

Based on everything we’ve gone over you’d think this defense is pretty well set. I’m here to tell you, though, it could be even better by the time the season rolls around.

For starters, 2020’s Free Agency period is still going on and there are some big names still available. Besides the guys we mentioned a few slides ago for the front-seven, there’s one key player that the Ravens could be interested in, Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney is as high-profile a free agent as they come. He’s somehow still available for the Free Agency market and Baltimore could be suitors for his services. It would take a lot of maneuvering the cap, but it’s far from impossible.

The best way for the Ravens to continue addressing their defense, however, is via the 2020 NFL Draft. Baltimore currently owns the 28th pick in the first round of the draft. The team also possesses five picks in the first three rounds and nine picks in total. The draft is the perfect place to continue adding talent and also get younger defensively.

Inside linebacker is the biggest need for Baltimore and two prospects will likely be available with the 28th pick in the forms of LSU’s Patrick Queen and Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray. Both are guys who are sideline-to-sideline kind of linebackers and add serious speed upfront. Either of them would be a major upgrade compared to what the team had last season, too.

Edge rushing depth is also a need, and the 2020 NFL Draft has plenty of those. Alabama’s Terrell Lewis is a personal favorite of mine, but guys like Penn State’s Yetur Gross-Matos, Boise State’s Curtis Weaver, and Michigan’s Josh Uche are also potential targets.
