Pittsburgh Steelers:
Despite not having a lot of house money to be active in Free Agency, the Pittsburgh Steelers made a surprising amount of moves. Sure, the loss of Javon Hargrave hurts, but bringing back Bud Dupree is a huge win for the team. The Steelers also successfully brought in some big names like Eric Ebron, fullback Derek Watt (yes, that Watt), and offensive lineman Stephen Wisniewski.
With Ben Roethlisberger set to return, Pittsburgh should be right back on track to competing in the AFC North.
The Steelers offense was flat out bad last year and there’s no debating otherwise. Roethlisberger’s return is enormous for the unit, and even if he’s not the same it’s hard to imagine it being worse than 2019’s edition. Match them with that unbelievably good defense and this team looks like a 10-win squad.
Pittsburgh is without a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but they should be happy with acquiring Minkah Fitzpatrick. In the middle of round two, there’s plenty of directions the team can go. Adding a running back makes sense giving James Conner‘s injuries and impending Free Agency. A guy like Jonathan Taylor seems like a perfect fit for this offense. Considering the defense is stacked, expect the Steelers to go heavy on offense for this draft. A good draft will solidify a rock-solid offseason for this team.
The Pittsburgh Steelers found a way to be a .500 football team last year with their anemic offense, so Big Ben’s return will have them back to their old selves. The AFC North crown is within reach for them and they’ll likely be the biggest competitors for the Baltimore Ravens.
