The Baltimore Ravens approach the NFL Draft yet again needing to add a wide receiver. Here is a look at Denzel Mims, a star receiver from Baylor:

The Baltimore Ravens would be lucky to get Denzel Mims in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Mims is a receiver who is very much part of the main group of elite talent this position has to offer in this draft class. If Baltimore finds themselves out of the running for players like Jerry Juedy, Ceedee Lamb and Henry Ruggs, Mims would be a player of the same caliber. Let’s take a look at the kind of player he is.

What he brings to the table:

The traits for Mims are obvious. He’s a big bodied wide receiver. He takes long and galloping strides and is an athlete that makes it look easy. He’s a 6’3″ 207 pound receiver who ran a 4.38 second 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine. He’s not a burner the way that Marquise Brown is, yet he is a legitimate deep threat. He’s a combination of everything you’re looking for at wide receiver.

He’s got the frame and body control to make tough catches in the air and to be a red zone machine. He’s got the route running and the ability to create separation that will make him a high reception weapon. On top of that, Mims becomes a running back when he has the ball. He’s going to pick up yards after the catch.

He’s a player who has developed over a four-year span at Baylor. He comes into the NFL Draft as a pro-ready star in the making. If the Ravens drafted him, he would give Marquise Brown a run for his money for being the top target at wide receiver.
