The Baltimore Ravens have a star-studded roster that makes it easy for someone to get looked over, but Marquise Brown will blossom into a star in 2020.

When’s the last time the Baltimore Ravens had a star receiver? Outside of Steve Smith Sr. for two-and-a-half years, it’s been a long, long time. That drought will end in 2020 when Marquise Brown breaks out in a big way.

More from Ebony Bird

Marquise Brown, the former 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, had a fine rookie season. In 14 games, Brown accumulated 46 receptions for 584-yards and a franchise rookie record seven touchdown receptions (tied with Torrey Smith and Marlon Brown). Brown put on a spectacle at times and had some of the most impressive catches of any receiver in the NFL.

The man dubbed “Hollywood” Brown was simply wonderful in the limited action we saw last year.

The most impressive part of this feat is Brown played all of 2019 with multiple screws in his foot, which limited him significantly and even took two games away from him. Those screws have since been removed, and now there’s reason to believe the best is yet to come.

Baltimore’s wide receiver room leaves much to be desired, but Marquise Brown is a bright light in the darkness. Marquise Brown is simply cut from a different cloth than the rest of the group and does it in all facets of the game.

Brown displayed a deep connection with Lamar Jackson, too. We saw how in-sync the two were in year-one and we expect it to further develop in 2020. When it does, the two could become one of the league’s most dynamic quarterback-wide receiver duos.

Everything is stacking in favor of Marquise Brown developing into a top-flight receiver in year-two. Between a completely healthy offseason, more time to develop a connection with his quarterback, and all the talent he already possesses, the sky is the limit for him. Get ready, Ravens Flock, as we’ve never seen anything like what “Hollywood” is about to do in 2020.
