10 NFL Draft alternatives to Cesar Ruiz for the Baltimore Ravens
One more grouping:
Robert Hunt (Louisiana Laffayette)
The Ravens don’t need an offensive tackle, which is why Hunt is one of the tackles they can draft. Hunt has the ability to play guard. He has good footwork and he is an awesome run blocker. He could be James Hurst without the problems. What I mean by that is he is a player that may become a starter and has the versatility to backup multiple positions on the offensive line. This is a high upside player who should at least be a player who sticks around.
Jonah Jackson (Ohio State)
Jackson has the athleticism that the Ravens have found in players like Bradley Bozeman and Matt Skura. He’s a bit of a project in my eyes as his footwork leaves a little to be desired. He comes from a football power house in Ohio State. I’m not in love with him as a prospect. He could end up being a second round pick. I feel more like he’s a third or fourth round kind of guy.
Damien Lewis (LSU)
Lewis is a player I am probably higher on than most. I even like him more than his teammate Lloyd Cushenberry. I think he’s a good athlete who fits the Ravens offensive scheme. Lewis has short area quickness and a bit of a mean streak. He’s my kind of player.
Nick Harris (Washington)
Harris is a player with good footwork. He keeps his feet moving and he doesn’t get off balance or in bad positions to make a block. I don’t think he’s an amazing prospect. He’s not a first rounder yet like a lot of people on this list, he’s rock solid.
Not counting offensive tackles I see more as guards, I have 29 interior offensive linemen on my big board. I like a good bit of them for the Ravens. Ruiz is a good value at 28 yet he’s not a player the Ravens absolutely have to get. There is a ton of offensive line talent in this draft. When you consider how the Ravens turned Bradley Bozeman from project to quality starter there is no rush in the NFL Draft for an offensive lineman.
