2) Justin Madubuike:

Justin Madubuike was not a player that I heard much about, but that could be because his name is so hard to say. Madubuike did make a name for himself at the combine though, running 4.83 seconds in the 40-yard dash at 300 pounds and putting up 32 reps on the bench press. Those numbers are highly impressive for a player who will be playing on the interior of the defensive line. Speed and strength are on Madubuike’s side, and it shows up when you watch him play. He was a highly productive player at the college level by getting at least 5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss in back to back years.

The biggest weakness that Madubuike faces is his height. I don’t see this as a huge issue though, if he had performed as he did at the combine at 6’6″ instead of 6’3″, he might have gone in the first round. Beyond his height, there are concerns about his consistency and his stagnation in production. John Harbaugh should be able to work his magic and get the most out of Madubuike. If Madubuike loves the game and commits to it, he could become the most disruptive interior defender the Ravens have had since Haloti Ngata.

His interior pass rush will be something that the Ravens can utilize right away. Brandon Williams is a great player against the run, but he has a total of 6.5 sacks in his career, he offers very little in the pass rush department. The other defensive tackles on the roster are not much better at rushing the passer either. Madubuike will be able to come into the game after Brandon Williams and company dominate the run to get after the quarterback. A lineup of Matt Judon, Calais Campbell, Madubuike, and Derek Wolfe in obvious passing situations is scary to think about.
