People in the Ravens Flock have sent me questions via Twitter. Now it’s time to get them some answers about the state of our favorite football team:

@edthehead asks: What would be the salary of Jadeveon Clowney? While the Ravens can’t afford him, what would Jacksonville ask for in a trade and what would be his salary? Outside of a true edge, what is the missing part to a true dynasty?

Answer: I will admit that salary cap stuff has never been my strongest hold of my football nerd life, though I have you covered here. With Clowney it’s getting to the point where it boils down to what he’s willing to take. I don’t think there are a lot of decision makers who feel comfortable offering him $20 million per season. Ultimately, I think he gets paid somewhere around the $16-18 million per season range. If he takes a one year prove it deal though, and he stays healthy and puts up big numbers, he could get in the same price range as guys like DeMarcus Lawrence, Frank Clark and Chandler Jones.

The Jaguars drafted K’Lavon Chaisson. This makes trading Yannick Ngakoue a little easier from a football standpoint. If I was the Jaguars I would just want this whole thing to be over. I’d ask for a third round pick. I think they’ll ask for a second round pick but a good deal-maker could walk them down to a fourth round pick.

If the Jaguars can get rid of his cap hit of over $17 million and go with young talent at the position they should do so. Ngakoue is a really good player on the edge and you have to overpay pass rushers more often than not. I think he gets into the $20 million a year group. Something like a four year $80 million deal would make a lot of sense.

As for the Ravens missing piece of a dynasty, I think it’s elite production from the wide receiver position. Lamar Jackson just had an MVP season where he led the league in passing touchdowns and the Ravens are going to run the ball better than any team. If Jackson had weapons you couldn’t stop at wide receiver, which is hopefully what guys like Marquise Brown and Devin Duvernay give him, it would make the Ravens unstoppable. An elite run game with an passing attack would make the Ravens the best offense you’ll ever see.
