Ranking Baltimore Ravens 5 prime-time games in 2020
4. Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns should be contenders based on their roster on paper, but they’re consistently getting in their own way. Until they can prove they can live up to their talent, they’ll be glossed over by others and rightfully so.
But looking at this through the lens of whether or not this will be a good prime-time football game vs. the Baltimore Ravens, it could be.
Baker Mayfield needs to make strides to turn the ball over a lot less. Mayfield had a 22/21 touchdown/interception ratio in 2019 with weapons like Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. The team went and added Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper to make this offense even better. If everyone hits, this offense could be one of the league’s better units.
Where the questions come in to play are defensive. Myles Garrett is back from suspension, but the front-seven isn’t exactly intimidating beyond him. The secondary has some very intriguing pieces in the forms of cornerback Denzel Ward and rookie safety Grant Delpit, but it’s far from a proven unit.
All-in-all, the 2020 Cleveland Browns are all potential and the Baltimore Ravens are proven. This prime-time matchup won’t be until mid-December, where we’ll know what both teams are about. Until then, this isn’t a matchup that looks to be anything more than average. The fact that it’s an in-division game makes it a bit more exciting.
