What happened against the Browns:

The Ravens trailed the Browns game throughout as well falling down 7-0 with 2:50 left in the first quarter. Unfortunately, Cleveland forced back to punts on drives  in which Jackson went 5-6 for 25 yards and added ten yards on the ground. The second drive ended on this infamous Chris Moore incompletion (2:20 mark).

After a Baker Mayfield interception (he throws a ton of ’em), Jackson took over at the 42 with 5:35 left in the first half trailing 7-0. He and the offense went on a seven play 58 yard drive to knot the score up at 7-7 with 1:55 remaining in the half. Jackson finished the drive 1-1 with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Miles Boykin and added 29 yards on his only carry of the drive.

The defense would concede a field goal with eight seconds left to give the Brownies a 10-7 halftime lead. Jackson would go on to lead a second half opening field goal drive of eight plays and 62 yards to knot the game up at 10 apiece. Jackson went 1-2 with 18 yards and added 19 on the ground.

Three plays and 75 yards later aided by a Ricky Seals-Jones 59 yard catch (who?), Nick Chubb punched it in from 14 yards out to give give the Browns a 17-10 lead. The Ravens took over at the 25 and worked it to the Cleveland 32 with 6:20 remaining in the third quarter. Jackson was 2-2 for 19 yards on the drive before Mark Ingram coughed up the football to turn it over to the Browns.

After an eight play 74 yard drive saw the Browns extend their lead to 24-10, Jackson returned to the field and went 7-9 for 57 yards through the air and carried twice for nine yards. He capped the drive off with an eight yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews to once again cut the Browns lead to 24-18 with 9:51 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Ravens were hoped were all but dashed when Nick Chubb rolled 83 yards on one play past the entire defense including a quitting Earl Thomas (I said it). After a turnover on downs, the defense conceded a field goal to extend the lead to 33-18.

The next drive saw Jackson open up 3-3 for 21 yards before he launched a deep ball for Mark Andrews that was picked off by the Browns. Awful lot of contact on that play (9:48 in the highlights). The proper PI call there and the Ravens are in business at the one yard line. The Ravens defense would hold the Browns to a three and out but Jackson would throw his second pick on a play where he was hit as he threw.

It was 40-18 when Willie Snead caught a meaningless 50 yard touchdown to make the final score 40-25. In full, Jackson went 18-24 for 218 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions from the Mayfield interception onward. He also pitched in 57 yards on the ground as well. While the picks there are concerning, they were suspect at best and the Ravens were able to keep the game within a score prior to the Chubb run.

On to the game of which we shouldn’t often speak of.
