Detroit Lions:
The Detroit Lions were one of the worst pass-rushing teams in all of football last year with a mere 28 team sacks. Half of those sacks came from two players, Trey Flowers and Devon Kennard, that latter of whom is no longer with the team. Flowers is a quality player, but he doesn’t scream “double-digit sack” kind of production.
Detroit didn’t really address their pass rush this offseason via the 2020 NFL Draft or Free Agency, meaning if they plan to address it prior to the 2020 season they’ll need to make a trade. Acquiring Matt Judon makes all the sense in the world.
Judon is a flexible edge rusher who can play with a hand in the dirt in Detroit’s 4-3 scheme. Judon would also fit well with tweener linebackers like Jamie Collins to give the Lions scheme diverse players to alter their defense.
Yannick Ngakoue is another edge rusher who makes some sense for Detroit to target, but Matt Judon would be a great addition for this defense.
