Pressure

When you enter the season as one of the Super Bowl favorites, to say there are high expectations would be an understatement.

When you’re looking to build off a franchise best 14-2 season, return the majority of your starters, boast one of the deeper rosters in the league, and have the NFL’s easiest schedule lined up in 2020, expectations will sky rocket as well.

When you get embarrassed in a home playoff game 28-12 by the sixth seed, you certainly enter the next season with a lot to prove.

When your unanimous MVP has to keep hearing about his 0-2 playoff record, there’s a ton of motivation and pressure to get that monkey off of his and the team’s backs.

Fair or unfair, the Ravens choked last season. And Marlon Humphrey said as such as after the Titans loss. The identity of this team right now is to get to the playoffs and lay an egg or to miss the playoffs on a late-season collapse. Of the projected starters (Jimmy Smith and Pernell McPhee project as back-ups) for this upcoming season, only the Wolfpack and Brandon Williams were a part of the last Ravens playoff win.

It’s one thing to be a successful regular season team on a consistent basis but the pressure is on this 2020 Ravens roster to deliver a playoff win. Pressure either makes diamonds or bursts pipes. Let’s hope the Ravens come out of this season shining bright like a diamond.
