7. Gus Edwards

To give you a clue of what is to come, Edwards is one of two current running backs on this top 10 list. Edwards is an underrated running back who is capable of being a starter. He was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers. Edwards is a bruising running back who is perfectly fitted to this offense. He’s a downhill runner with great contact balance. He gives more punishment than he gets and that’s the mark of a power runner in the NFL.

From a statistical standpoint Edwards may be the most consistent player the Ravens have ever had at the running back spot. Edwards had almost the same number of rushing attempts, rushing yards and yards per attempt in his two seasons in Baltimore. Edwards has had five games over 100 rushing yards in that two year span. When he has the hot hand, he’s more than just a number two back, he’s one of the stars in the backfield.

6. Justin Forsett

Justin Forsett is part of the long list of running backs who had the best year of their career under Gary Kubiak. Forsett had 3,890 carrer rushing yards. Forsett ranks fifth in Ravens history in rushing yards with 2,005 yards. The 2014 Ravens leaned on Fosett in the running game and Forsett had his only season with over 1,000 rushing yards. Before getting hurt in the 2015 season where just about everyone got hurt, he picked up 641 rushing yards.

Forsett was legitimately good for the Ravens. Baltimore was the one stop in his career where he got the opportunity to be a chance to be the starting running back. He had some decent years for the Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Texans that kept him in the league. 2016 was the last year of his career. Forsett is a perfect example of sticking with something and taking advantage of the perfect opportunity when it comes.
