How it will work for the rest of the offense:

This could be Mark Ingram‘s last year with the Ravens. J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill will more than likely be the players who star in the backfield after that. The one thing the Ravens should be able to do with Jackson and Stanley as two core players on offense is run the ball. The Ravens can’t shell out big money at the running back position. Look for them to periodically invest a draft pick at the running back spot. It won’t be a first round investment, but you could see them taking a handful of backs in the middle rounds in the next six to ten years.

Assuming they pick up his option the Ravens have Marquise Brown until 2023 so they don’t have to worry about him for another four seasons. They don’t have to decide about his long-term future for a while. If he earns it, Brown can become the third player the Ravens have to keep no matter what for Jackson. At the moment, Brown is the most explosive player yet Andrews is the most dependable.

The Ravens aren’t going to be able to keep everybody. This is why the NFL Draft is so important. If the Ravens eventually lose Brown they have to hope Devin Duvernay and Miles Boykin become dangerous play-makers.  If the Ravens eventually lose Orlando Brown Jr. they have to hope Tyre Phillips is their guy. That’s just the way it has to be.

The good news is that Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta built almost the entire offense through the NFL Draft. For an organization that always had better luck drafting players on defense, this is an encouraging thing to see. If you can do something once, you can do it twice. The Ravens have to keep adding talent  to their offense through the NFL Draft. It’s the only way to keep the crazy amount of talent they have all the sudden become used to having. The way you have to look at it is that you can pay the quarterback and his two biggest helpers on offense. The two players that are impossible to replace are Stanley and Andrews. You’ve got your big three on offense right there.
