Wide Receivers:

Analysis– This match-up features Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry of the Browns, versus Marquise Brown, a.k.a. “Hollywood”, and company for the Ravens. Just because on paper the Browns win the match-up, the biggest consideration that needs to be taken is the secondaries. Last season Marlon Humphrey traveled with Beckham and shut him down. Between Marcus Peters, Tavon Young, and Jimmy Smith; Landry, the Raven killer will need to get shutdown. The Browns on the other hand are dealing with a handful of injuries in the secondary including starting corner Greedy Williams. That should bode well for Raven receivers and the run game will be a huge advantage for the Ravens.

Whether or not Humphrey follows Odell doesn’t matter though, because the Ravens have a deep secondary and a hungry pass rush. The Browns on the other hand have the injuries dealt with, a new head coach and coordinators, and are going against the best running quarterback in the game. Between these two position groups, someone will need to make a play for their QB and open up the offense. With two receivers who do their most damage out of the slot for the Browns, it will be imperative for the Ravens to strike first. I see Hollywood getting open for a big play on the Ravens’ first drive.

Prediction:

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown- seven receptions, 95 receiving yards, one carry, 15 rushing yards

Willie Snead– three receptions, 25 receiving yards

Odell Beckham Jr.- five receptions, 45 receiving yards

Jarvis Landry- nine receptions, 115 receiving yards, one touchdown
