Baltimore Ravens smash Browns: The good, bad and the ugly
The Ugly:
The Ravens defense had a great day overall, yet the Browns first-half touchdown drive (their only touchdown drive) was absolutely horrible. The Browns marched down the field with ease on that drive and Kareem Hunt had a huge run on the drive. David Njoku scored a touchdown on a play-action pass where nobody covered him as he went to the back corner of the end zone. It may have been a great play-call by Kevin Stefanski, the new coach of the Browns, yet it was way too easy.
Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb combined for over 100 yards on the ground. Both averaged over five yards per carry. There are certainty things the Ravens need to work on before they face David Johnson and the Houston Texans. In a closer game, the run game could have been a problem for the Ravens defensively.
The most frustrating play of the ball game was when Pat Ricard fumbled in the red zone. Not only did it squander a chance to put points on the board, but it gave Cleveland a little hope and some momentum. The Browns had some chances in this game and that was a chance the Ravens never had to give them.
Overall the Ravens won in dominant fashion. There was a lot of ugly for the Browns. They had a laughable fake punt, a missed extra point, a dropped catch in scoring range, turnovers and they gave up 38 points. So that’s a short and simple ugly section for the Ravens. This was a great game for the Ravens. They made a statement with this win.
