Lamar Jackson:

The most obvious player who needs to step up in order for the Baltimore Ravens to take down the Kansas City Chiefs is the face of the franchise, Lamar Jackson.

Jackson has squared off against the Chiefs twice in his first two seasons but has yet to win a game. Granted Baltimore has lost those two games by a combined eight points, so it’s not as though the team is getting soundly beat. Rather, they simply need Jackson to step up and be the superstar we know he can be against the best team in football.

While he hasn’t necessarily been terrible, Jackson has been far from spectacular vs. the Chiefs. Jackson has completed just 52.2% of his passes for 414-yards but has two touchdown passes and zero interceptions. Jackson has also tallied 113-yards on the ground and another touchdown. Again, this play is solid, but it needs to be better.

At the end of the day, the Baltimore Ravens are only going to play as well as their quarterback plays. The defense can’t stop Patrick Mahomes; no one can. You can only hope to contain him. With that in mind, that puts an emphasis on being able to put up points and keep pace with Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. To do this, Lamar Jackson has to be on his A-game.
