The Baltimore Ravens have more cracks in their armor than we may have thought they did but they should roll over the Washington Football team:

Listing problems with the Baltimore Ravens and playing the blame game has become a popular thing to do since the Ravens 34-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Lamar Jackson didn’t even total 100 passing yards against the Chiefs and for this the blame has gone to a bit of everybody. Jackson had a bad game and his critics will be the first to point it out. That being said lots of people are pointing out problems with the offensive line, problems with Greg Roman’s play-calling and dropped passes. Speaking of dropped passes…

Mark Andrews has a consistency problem. Against the Cleveland Browns he’s a Travis Kelce impersonator against the Chiefs his hands stop functioning. Greg Patuto of nflyanlaysis.net predicted a two touchdown bounce back for Andrews against Washington. That’s probably what we’ll see too, Andrews seems to only have a drops problem in spotlight games. Andrews has something to prove that he can’t really do by victimizing the Washington Football Team.

Richard Bradshaw, my co-expert on this site, wrote that the Ravens had an identity crisis against the Chiefs. He’s not wrong. The Ravens defense was wishy-washy. They couldn’t decide on a battle plan and the offense didn’t look like anything we’ve seen in the Ravens previous 14 regular season wins. The Ravens can’t figure anything out in the pass rushing department and it’s a glaring problem. Fine. The Ravens have issues. That doesn’t mean they are a bad team and let’s be honest, they’re going to beat Washington.

The Ravens didn’t suddenly become destined to be a second or third place team in the AFC North. They didn’t start thinking about an early draft pick because Patrick Mahomes made them look bad. Mahomes does that to everybody and if the Ravens can get another shot at him in the playoffs, fine, but that’s not today’s fight. This week the Ravens have a 1-2 Washington Football team. A team with pass rush and that’s about it.

Dwayne Haskins is a turnover slot machine. The football sails on him at an alarming rate. He’s not very good. He has four touchdown passes and three interceptions so far this year. He’s had a fumble in all three of the Washington Football Team contests this season. Against the Cleveland Browns he had a passer rating of 58.8 and he’s been sacked no less than three times in each contest of 2020. The needle is pointed down for Washington’s 2019 first round pick. This is a get right game gift wrapped on a burgundy and yellow platter. If the Ravens have trouble on defense the alarms can really sound.

The Washington Football Team has a decent defense, but it’s strength is pass defense. Their pass rush got less formidable with Chase Young being listed as out for Sunday. Baker Mayfield only needed 156 yards and two touchdown passes to beat Washington, while Nick Chubb did the rest with over 100 yards on the ground. The game plan for this game is so obvious it’s almost painful.

It doesn’t matter how it gets done. Lamar Jackson, J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards or Mark Ingram can all get their yards in this game. The Ravens should get back to churning out 200 or more yards on the ground and taking up time of possession like it’s the last piece of cake and they don’t mind being that guy who hogs it up.

I’m thinking three sacks to get the pass rushers on track, a continuation of the Ravens streak of forcing turnovers and 230 rushing yards. I’m thinking a three score win. The Ravens are still a good team, we’ve just seen some of their imperfections. Washington isn’t that good. Cut off the that in the previous sentence. Washington isn’t good. Ron Rivera is a good coach and you can’t take anything for granted but the Ravens should absolutely be expected to blow the doors off this team without a name. Give me the Ravens 31-10.
