Jake Lippman:

This week the Ravens face a familiar enemy in the Cincinnati Bengals. Last year, in two matchups the Ravens won both. Each game was its own victory though as one was played against Andy Dalton and the other against Ryan Finley.

This year the Ravens matchup against #1 pick Joe Burrow who has looked sharp this season. Burrow is throwing to rookie Tee Higgins, as well as veteran Raven killers A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. With Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard in the backfield, he has a full stable of weapons.

At 1-2-1 the Bengals have been competitive and look like a new team on offense. The Ravens on the other hand are 3-1 but are a little banged up. Returning for this week is Ronnie Stanley after missing week four with an injury. In week four D.J. Fluker filled in admirably and now maybe sliding to right guard with Tyree Phillips our with injury. With the Ravens hurting it has led to questions to who will be on the field. The good news is, reigning MVP Lamar Jackson returned to practice on Thursday and is set to go. That’s the most important thing as he made highlight play after highlight play last year.

In this season’s matchup look for the Ravens to start hot, firing aggressively on offense and blitzing Burrow early and often. They want to make the rookie think and expose the Bengal defenses weakness, covering the middle of the field. Look for the Ravens to use a heavy dosage of the run game and look for the tight ends and receivers over the middle of the field.

At the end of this game, the Ravens secondary will be tested, but it will only strengthen them as they look to continue hot. The offense also looks to pick up where they left off on a young team. Look for the Ravens to get some fight out of the Bengals but eventually just be too much.
