12. Las Vegas Raiders, 3-2 (18)

The Raiders took it to the Chiefs and showed that they might be able to contend for real this very season. They have serious pieces on offense now and can be a factor if the defense can make enough plays.

11. New England Patriots, 2-2 (10)

They didn’t play this week and are hopeful they get Cam Newton back sooner than later. If Newton plays, the Pats can play with anybody. If not, well, they can play with some teams — but not the good ones.

10. New Orleans Saints, 3-2 (13)

They really rallied to beat the Chargers on Monday night, even without Michael Thomas. Being 3-2 is not terrible when things aren’t clicking, but they do have some work to do — on both sides of the ball.

9. L.A. Rams, 4-1 (11)

They smacked down the Whatchamacallits, 30-10, and Jared Goff is looking very good this season. Aaron Donald, well, that guy is playing like Aaron Donald. Not sure if there’s a higher compliment than that in the NFL.
