The ugly:

The penalties were outrageously bad in this game. Going into the fourth quarter the Ravens had nine penalties. On one drive they had three straight penalties that gave their offense a 3rd and 30. That’s a horrible look. The Ravens played a sloppy game. They were just head and shoulders better than their opponent.

The Eagles helped the Ravens a couple times in this game with big drops. It wasn’t good that Miles Sanders was wide open in the red zone coming off a wheel route. It was just fortunate that he dropped it. It wasn’t good that John Hightower was wide open on a pass he dropped on the first possesion of the game. The Eagles had some chances to get things going in this game that they just didn’t take advantage of. The Ravens gave up a big run to Miles Sanders, and while they forced the fumble J.J. Arcega-Whiteside recovered it for a touchdown Then the Ravens gave them a two point conversion. The Ravens can’t give this many chances to the Pittsburgh Steelers after the bye week; they’ll take advantage of it.

The Eagles made this one a little too close for comfort. The Eagles made it an eight point game with just over three minutes remaining in the game. Marcus Peters had a less than stellar day and the touchdown he gave up to Travis Fulgham was an example of that. Then the Ravens gave up the two point conversion. On the subsequent drive, the Ravens had a holding penalty that put them in a 2nd and 18 situation. The Ravens didn’t do a good enough job putting this one away. Sloppy football and penalties from the Baltimore Ravens helped the Eagles stay in the game. The fact that the Ravens had to punt the ball and give the Eagles a chance to tie the game is a problem for Baltimore.

Speaking of penalties, Peters got called for pass interference on the next crucial drive. Good call or not, it gave the Eagles the ball in the red zone. The Eagles scored a touchdown to make the score 30-28. It all came down to a two point conversion for the Eagles, in a game they were basically all but beaten. Luckily, the Ravens stopped Philadelphia on the two point try.
