3. It’s the trade that makes the most logistical sense:

Sure, you want Julio Jones. Who doesn’t? Can the Ravens afford to pay that contract? There is no way to get that deal done. John Ross makes some sense because it literally can’t hurt to give the Bengals a seventh round pick for another speed guy;  however Ross is not a player you can bank on and may just be a lesser version of what the team already has.

There has been a lot of talk about Will Fuller. Fuller would be a rental since he becomes a free agent next season, while Engram will become a free agent after the 2021 season. Fuller is a more expensive in the moment, and the Ravens may not be able to bring him back into the fold this offseason.

He’s also another speedster at wide receiver. The Ravens have those kinds of weapons and they aren’t using them right. So if these are your three best options to help the passing game, Engram is the most logistical. Jones is a dream that probably could only be traded to Baltimore in Madden 21. Ross and Fuller aren’t solving problems, they’re just two more fast receivers that Jackson may or may not develop chemistry with.

Engram is the most sensible option. It solves a problem for a team that needs a third player at tight end in a way like no other team in the NFL. Jackson loves throwing the football to tight ends. While Jackson may need to get better throwing outside, let him get as many easy completions in the middle of the field as his heart desires. Engram makes sense on the field. He has a contract that Baltimore can make work for the next two years.

This year he’s making just over three million. Next year he is set to make a little over six million dollars (according to overthecap.com). It’s a bit of a jump but it should be worth it as important as the tight end position is to the Ravens. The Giants may not want to trade him but they are awful. They’re not going anywhere this year no matter how bad their division is. Fifth round picks tend to work don’t they?
