The Baltimore Ravens will welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday looking to hand the Steelers their first loss of the season.
It’s Steelers week in Baltimore as the 5-1 Baltimore Ravens will host the 6-0 Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday at 1:00pm in front of roughly 3,800 members of the Ravens Flock at M&T Bank Stadium.
In what was arguably the second most important bye week development, the Ravens finally received approval to host some fans at their home games and the team has conducted a lottery to land 3,800 fortunate PSL holders a spot to see the NFL’s best rivalry. The largest piece of news over the bye week was the Ravens acquisition of Minnesota Vikings pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue in exchange for for a 2021 third round pick and a 2022 conditional fifth round selection.
The Maryland alum has recorded five sacks and two forced fumbles so far this season for a disappointing Vikings squad. Ngakoue has 47.5 sacks in the 67 career starts and rejoins his old pal Calais Campbell in Baltimore looking to fortify a front four that is stout against the run but lacks real edge rushers. The addition of Ngakoue could loom large as the Steelers come to town on Sunday.
Pittsburgh sits atop the AFC North at 6-0 coming off of a 27-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The Steelers were outscored in the second half 17-3 but were able to escape Music City with a win after Stephen Gostkowski missed a 45 yard field goal with 0:19 seconds left that would have forced overtime.
Ravens-Steelers games are always huge and with both teams looking like playoff locks, the results of the two regular season match ups could play huge in the long run in deciding the AFC North division champion. Here are three things that I am watching for ahead of the match up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
