2. Winning a game that doesn’t want to go your way:

The Ravens can’t come from behind right? Well there is certainly a narrative that suggests that. In the Lamar Jackson era the Ravens have a very bad record when trailing at halftime and it’s something all Ravens fans have painfully been reminded of. The Colts led this game 10-7 at the half.

They got on the board first, the Ravens offense was sputtering. This could have been a game where the Ravens got away from themselves. This could have kept up with the pattern sports pundits are all too ready to point out. Instead the Ravens won.

The third quarter saw the best offensive rhythm that we’ve seen all season, with exception to the season opening win against the Cleveland Browns. Quite frankly, the Ravens found a roll. They outscored the Colts 17-0 in the second half.

Two things are true here. First, the Ravens adjusted to the problems they were having. Secondly, their play got better as the game went on. They were on the road, playing a fellow five win team. If I told you the game would start the way it did, you wouldn’t think this is how the game would end up. You were worried at halftime if you were a Ravens fan. The Ravens made that worry go away.

The Ravens didn’t get down by an awful lot in this game. It’s not like they were down 14-0 or anything. Let’s be honest though, this is a big thing for the Ravens, a team that usually seems to need to lead wire to wire win. This could be a game that spurs on some mental toughness for the 2020 Ravens team. This could be a building block win, that keeps confidence on the sideline and on the field in the pressure cooking situations that may arise the rest of the season.
