What should the Baltimore Ravens try to do against the Patriots?

1. Get Dez Bryant involved in the offense:

The Baltimore Ravens must get Dez Bryant into the game a bit more against the New England Patriots. There has to be a reason they added Bryant and it has to be more than one play a game. The Ravens have one of the most underperforming wide receiving groups in the NFL. Bryant may not revive the passing game but his presence on the football field cannot be a bad thing.

The Ravens should get him a heavy dose of playing time. Last week he dressed for the game and got a small bit of playing time. This week he must get a healthy amount of chances to show that he can do something. Bryant’s role isn’t going to grow if he’s not given the chance. If his role expands in this offense, good things have a chance to happen.

There has been a lot of talk about having Miles Boykin act almost like a third tight end. That’s not really what the Ravens should be looking for out of a wide receiver but what does that thought tell you? It tells you that the Baltimore offense needs a dash of toughness from its pass catchers not named Mark Andrews. Bryant isn’t a speedster, he’s a go up and get the ball kind of receiver. Bryant can win Lamar Jackson over with that kind of play. He can become a new favorite target.

Just imagine what could happen if Bryant ended up being the security blanket in this offense. There would be less attention on Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews. There would be more kinds of options in the passing game. It wouldn’t just be an option of a fast receiver or a big tight end. The Ravens would have the big receiver they needed in this offense, the one that they hoped Boykin would have been.
