The Baltimore Ravens must remain focused against the Jacksonville Jaguars:

The number one thing the Baltimore Ravens need to do against the Jacksonville Jaguars is to remain focused. At the end of this ball game, Ravens fans have to be happy. The NFL playoffs have already started for the Ravens because any loss can do them in. The fact is that there is no excuse for anything but their A-game.

The Ravens just had the most exciting game they’ve had in some time. The battle with the Cleveland Browns ended with a fury of drama. The Ravens got a huge win and played in the best game of the NFL season. Fine. It’s over and week 15 is here.

The Jaguars only lost to the Browns by two points as Cleveland won with a 27-25 score. The Jaguars lost in overtime to the Vikings and almost beat the Green Bay Packers. They beat the Indianapolis Colts. They almost beat the Tennessee Titans. Are the Jaguars a good football team? No. Are the Ravens in for a fight? Absolutely. John Harbaugh has to have his team ready.

At the end of the day, the Jaguars are the perfect team to play spoiler. They have nothing to play for other than the pride of doing their job and being competitive as they live in the moment. They have just enough talent to be competitive in a lot of games and not enough talent to win consistently.

If the Ravens lose this game it’s on them. The Ravens are vying for a playoff spot. They’re at home and they are clearly the better team. They don’t just have to win. They have to get a win they can be proud of. It’s time to leave the red flags and reservations about this team behind. It’s time to look like a team that can win a Super Bowl, not a team desperate just for a spot in the postseason.

Even with injuries that will potentially give the defenses a tougher hand than they’d like, this is a potential get right game for Don Martindale’s unit. If the Ravens have a chance to get right defensively they win this game by two or three touchdowns. If the Jaguars put up 20 points in this contest, Baltimore we have a problem.

One of the teams in competition with the Ravens for a playoff spot is the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins beat the Jaguars 31-15 earlier this season. This isn’t college football and a selection committee doesn’t pick the postseason seeds, and at the same time, this matters. The Ravens don’t just want the seventh and final playoff seed, they also want to deserve it.

The bottom line:

We can talk x’s and o’s. We can talk about how the Ravens go about covering D.J. Chark or how they run the ball on this defense. What we need to talk about though, is the standard for this week 15 game.

The standard is a game that the Ravens make look easy. The goal is not to sully the confidence that was picked up in a 47-42 victory on Monday Night Football.
