Baltimore Ravens vs. Titans Wild Card: Answering your burning questions
Last Call:
@RavensAllDay87 asks: Who is a player that you think is going to make a big impact other than the obvious choices like Lamar, J.K, Andrews, Gus, Marquise, Marlon, Campbell, Peters? I say Tyus Bowser makes a huge game-changing play on defense, I honestly see him playing big this entire run.
Answer: Tyus Bowser is a great call but it feels like cheating to take yours. I do want to talk about Bowser a bit before I give you my answer though because you are spot on here. Bowser is a player that William Frierson deemed an unsung hero in a recent Ebony Bird article. Bowser’s versatility is the biggest area that you’re starting to see the pay off for him. He’s developing into a very solid player. He’s why you wait on some prospects to develop.
On offense, I could see it being Devin Duvernay. They’ve been getting him the ball on run plays. You have to think that there is a reason they throw that play in there beyond just the concept that he’s fast.
What if they add a fake to it, or get him the ball in the backfield for a Philly special kind of play? What if the Titans bite on him motioning out like he’s going to get another jet sweep and it leads to a big play on the other side of the field1? Here’s a crazy idea that Greg Roman has to come up with eventually, they could throw him the football. They seem interested in getting Duvernay involved and that has to start having more of a payoff.
Defensively, I am going to say Justin Madubuike. It’s not just about the starters on the defensive line. Henry is going to keep coming and fresh legs are crucial in the fourth quarter. We’ve seen how Henry has worn down this defense in the past. I could envision Madubuike having a play where he breaks through, forces the issue, and makes a game-changing play in the backfield.
